Are Sage really this incompetent?

Hi guys,

I decided to take advantage of the Free invoicing software offer in the current bulletin.
  • I clicked on the link, filled in my details and clicked continue.
  • That brought me to a page where I was asked for my details all over again.
  • Having got that far I decided to continue and entered my details again.
  • On clicking 'Next' I got a page telling me that there was a 'Server Error'..
I would have complained to Sage but the only phone number was a 0845 number and I am not going to spend my money telling them of a fault on their system.
Frankly would you trust your accounting information to a company that can not even get a simple we site to work!

Perhaps businesszone should pick their partners with more care.

As I was wriyting this I received an email from Sage so obviously something got through. Unfortunately it said:-
I am out of the office until 14th April. Please email Paul.crosby for a response, or I will contact you when I return. With thanks, Jason Sullock.

You really do have to wonder if this company could arrange a p***-*p in a brewery.

Regards Graham

The problem with both the Sage web apps that I've looked at so far is that they use lots of clever techniques to make everything look super pretty, but at no stage in the design does there seem to have been any consideration of what it would be like to use the software. The whole thing just comes across as an exercise in technology prowess.

Hiya Cath, welcome to the forum. I'm presuming from your name that you work for Sage - if so, I hope you have a thick skin ;)

I downloaded the free invoicing programme and have to say that I was a little disappointed that you couldn't do more with it in terms of editing it, adding logos, etc (yes I know it was free) - or did I miss something?

Andy
:)

PS - I should say that I really like Sage and use Line 50 (Client Manager) :D

Hi Andy

Unfortunately, I am a sensitive soul! However, thanks for your comments about Sage 50 Client Manager; pleased to hear you like it!:)

And thanks also for the feedback about Sage Invoicing. I’ve had a word with our support team and they tell me that you can add a logo to your invoice in the software. Here are some instructions courtesy of my colleague Andy:

To add your logo, select the Business module from the left hand stack, then choose Business Settings. If you now select Money In Details from the right hand window, there is an option for ‘Do you want to include your company logo?’, you can then browse to the image you want to use and select where you’d like the image placing on the invoice.

If you’ve got any other feedback about Sage Invoicing send me a PM and I’ll ask someone on the Sage Invoicing team to give you a call.

Cath
