Are interspire shopping cart and bigcommerce which is better?

i've narrowed my search down to interspire shopping cart and bigcommerce, but practically look the same, what exactly is the difference and which is the better one?

They're the same.
Bigcommerce was a branch out from Interspire, and is now their flagship product.
It all depends on how easy you want it. Bigcommerce is all hosted for you, where as Interspire shopping cart you download and host it your self.

BigCommerce is a hosted, fully managed SaaS (software as a service) eCommerce platform which requires absolutely no technical knowledge to use.

Also, you get the new features first with Bigcommerce, but you can change the coding with Interspire making it more flexible.

how do you get the UK £ sign for products in bigcommerce or interspire, they are set to usd $ by default and I cant see a way to change them, i'm using the 15 day trial

Do you get the security certifcates and so forth that you get with BigCommerce if you use Interspire shopping cart and host it yourself?

Interspire works out cheaper in the long run, as its a one off payment, whereas Bigcommerce is around £15

I'd consider whether you're selling to the UK if your considering BigCommerce which is hosted in the USA. Interspire can be installed locally on a UK server which makes it more likely to be listed by Google UK.

We was going with bigcommerce but the US hosting put me off + it had no direct integration with our accounts package.

I have found an amazing hosted ecommerce provider who cant do enough for me. I think they are pretty new, they are called easywebstore.net, they have very helpful live chat on the site you can fire questions at.
