Also agree with Movietut on that PC. Crackin' deal. Pitty you have to give your money to PCWorld..

If they ask "Do you want..."
Just say no, straight away. No extras, robbing gits.

It's true! Say NO to the tech guys, NO to any form of support or extended warranty. If they ask you if you need any help, also say NO!!! Otherwise they will help by giving you incorrect information and try and sell you a MAC that they make much higher markup on.

It amazes me how keen PC world floor staff are to sound knowledgeable when, in fact, they have never said one correct thing to me.

Excellent thanks guys,

I actually was going to have the tech guys insurance at £7.99 a month - if they are useless can anyone else recommend any?

Well £7.99 a month over 3 years (average sort of life of an all in one I guess) is £287.64, which is half the price of the system. And Systems rarely need replacing, it's normall a software issue which can be sorted out by a pro (any good local independant) for less than that anyway.

Also you have the manufacturers warranty which is 12 months minimum anyway. PC World will tell you that this is insufficent as without their warranty you can't bring the PC back to them directly etc etc. However, if say the screen failed in 3 months, you would simply return it to Acer with copies of your receipt and deal directly with them - and in my experience, bypassing PC world 'customer service' is no bad thing.

Of course it's possible that the system coulf fail completely (mainboard problem for example) after 12 months and you won't be covered with no PC world insurance, but this is really very unlikely. If you took out such insurance everytime you bought a new system, you would pay for one replacment several times over before you needed one.
