Hi, I am trying to find out a bit more information on a subject close to home.
I have ran pubs / clubs previously under another persons license. I am now making my own application with my local council. I have been convicted of a criminal offense "statuary rape".
My question is. I know the police have roughly 2 weeks to contest the application. but with this being an offense of a sexual nature would they delcine the application of do they consider individual circumstances. The question being is it worth me continuing the exam and application on having it completed in my partners name. I am unsure who to approach for advice.

Any help would be brilliant thank you

I have no idea, but one of my old bosses told a story of when he went for a licence it will be about 10-15 years ago, he applied for a licence and they brought up thefact he had been taken to court for not paying his TV licence 30 years prior.

There are alot of other factors and issues to be taken into consideration, like how long ago, what the judge thinks to the case, etc, etc.

If you have already paid for it, get the Certificate and see, you could do it as a joint licence tostart with which might help your case, but TBH i don't know.

No problem,
Thanks for the reply. I am aware that other factors are taken into consideration but I was unsure if we could go as a partnership. The forms all have single person so not sure where to go with that one.
Hopefully someone else can enlighten the situation

Well to be quite honest I dont think that is any concern of yours. I am asking for help regarding the subject not enquirys into how it came about so thank you for your enqusition but go elsewhere and point the finger. I have come here for advice. if you are not willing to offer and are here to take the piss then do it elsewhere

OP. The question is relevant. The first question I would be asking, however, is whether or not the convictions is spent, and whether or not you are currently signing the sex offenders register?

Using someone else as a 'puppet' should not be done. The landlord should be supervising sales of alcohol, and whilst other members of staff can 'supervise' in the dictionary sense of the word, the licencee is responsible for overall supervision.
