Worldpay is another alternative. A lot of the others require you to put a payment down in case of fraud. Paypal dont ask for this so its a good bet but quite expensive per transaction.

Worldpay is part of RBS so I guess firstly they're reputable and if you move to a merchant account through streamline they'll have had some experience of your trading history and may not cripple you with bonds etc… so there maybe advantages?

I rate Worldpay and have for many years. I can't for the life of me understand how RBS have such high loses. They get lots of money from me. Worth it though. They have provided a very reliable service for the past 6 years.

Search Online Payment System in Google and you will find many - choose one of them. But before any decision, please check for their users' rating or experience ( you will find them in forums threads).

In my opinon, there are only a few to choose in the UK from which are well establised and have a track record.

If you do go with another less established service, it would be worth doin some more research on them.

FWIW I recommend Nochex, Paypal and Google Checkout to all of my clients who are start-ups. Particularly valuable for start-ups as these does not need trading history or Merchant Bank backing.

I would suggest looking at Protx and Google Checkout. PayPal is very good but can be expensive unless you get a good rate for a high level of sales. Customers tend to trust PayPal and even the major high street retailers are using it now so I'd always include it somewhere.

Whatever you do stick to the mainstream providers as a good payment processor is essential for a successful website. Cutting corners here won't reap dividends.

The trouble with Google Checkout is that people have to register an account etc before they can make the payment. This is the same problem that Paypal had originally, and why some people didnt like using it.

Hopefully they will realise this soon and make provision to simply pay without having to register an account first. If they do this, I suspect they will become far more popular that Paypal for a few reasons...
