Anything related to BT community connections scheme?

Hey,

I am working in a community group and all our funding is in donations, we are really struggling to pay our bills right now, the usual rent, electric, phone etc.

Our phone bill is going up the more we are developing and getting busier and we had to buy a new laptop this week, that put a big dent in our funds, it is actually getting close to us having to close up.

I am trying to find ways to cut down costs and the phone bill / internet is one, I seen BT did a scheme until last year that helped community / volunteer groups - It was going for 10 years but finished last year - I was hoping there is something similar or someone that can help with communication costs.
We provide free social and welfare advise (Among many other services) so internet and phone is vital.

We haven't registered as a charity, but we are registered as a volunteer group with the local council and we are constituted.

Thanks for any help

Check with your local voluntary umbrella organisation regarding sources of funding. Your local council should have a grants scheme for local groups that you can apply for too.

I'm not sure what's in your organizational plan in terms of how you will fund your service but you could consider Skype as a temporary solution. In this way you wouldn't even need landline costs.

    Good luck
