Anyone use vehicle routing and scheduling software?

Hi,

This might only really apply to larger businesses, but there are a number of software applications out there that promise to optimise the delivery order of, for example, 100 customers using 10 vehicles - along with a host of other features.

I was just wondering if anyone has used these programmes and if any came recommended.

I did this at uni!

What you are looking for is Operations Research tools, I will try and pull out a file that I have somewhere on the names of the programs as the coders came in and delivered lectures on why the software they made was the best.

It can also be done manually belive it or not if you want to learn drop me a pm and il send you some of my lecture notes!

Paragon is widley used but alot of the bigger carriers have developed their own in house systems that track, time and optimise the routes that they have input.
