Anyone use Pay Per Leads

Hi everyone, yesterday I signed up to approvedindex.co.uk for a free listings for my graphic design company, they later phoned me telling me about their payed membership options.

The prices are something like £15 per lead but I think they send the leads to around 6 other clients. Do any of you good folk have any experience with this type of thing, also what are you experiences of google adwords.

I found there leads to be weak and not qualified in many cases, but eeach to their own.

There's a company that do this for central heating installs.

They fire a handful of free leads over to you every once in a while as some bait and then keep sending them with the customer contact details scrambled so you have to join the network to see them.

Seemed a bit stinky to me and I had a hunch some of the leads might be false as their seemed to be too many landing in my inbox in for it to be credible.

The freebie leads didn't go anywhere - calls or emails weren't reterned which made me think it was a sham.

We had a free trial for a similar service and the lead quality we received was terrible with many of the elements in the qualify section being totally wrong (eg client said budget of £250-£500 and we were told they said their budget was £4000-£6000)

Better to generate your own leads through a spot of telemarketing I reckon.

 

If you do look at telemarketing you should look at appointment setting and lead generation in one campaign ( which we specialise in wink wink ). As this is the best way to carry out campaigns for design companies.

I have used approved index for about 8 months but only on and off, the first month I found great and out of 8 leads I won 6 Jobs, but recently the leads have been very poor, we use them for web design, this month out of 8 leads, 4 could not contact at all, 2 said they had changed their mind before even got the chance to speak to them, the other 2 have had quotes and due to follow up next week, I also made a payment to them on my personal card as we were changing accounts
and asked them not to use it, they today took the money out of my personal account without my say so, not happy and have canceled my subscription with them.

Also another anoying factor seems to be with budgets what they often put in the lead is nothing like what the client wants to spend.
