Anyone use Companeo?

Here is my experience as a "lead". I used Companeo as I was looking for Vehicle/asset tracking and insurance for some machinery. Since I was also looking at what sort of deal we could get on our business phones at the time I added that too.

Wish I hadn't!

At first I got some really good information and details from some tracking companies (though to be fair, it would be cheaper to have my equipment stolen than some of the prices I was given!) who gave good details and no pushy sales - so I was pleased with that result.

I also had a couple of sensible responses as regards phone contracts. I've now taken on tracking and got a new phone contract. All well and good..... but now they won't go away!

I keep getting calls asking if I took up any of the offers they sent me. When I say yes, they then want to know who with and how much my contracts were - well you know what? That's nobody's business but mine and the people I deal with. I have had several calls like that so far, despite already confirming via an email that I was sent how I'd found the service and that I'd taken up some offers. Now I just want them, to leave me alone!

Not 10 minutes ago I got another call asking if I'd taken up any offers and yet again asked them to stop calling me.

This is a dreadful company that should be avoided at all costs.

We asked Companeo to provide leads that met the following criteria:
  1. Established Businesses over 2 years old
  2. Landline Telephone Number
  3. 3 or more staff
At least 75% of leads were startups. Majority were one-man bands and only about 10% were proper businesses.

We also set a budget limit of £500 + VAT per month to spend on leads.

They totally ignored this and sent out as many leads as possible.

When we complained they did not respond and when I finally talked to our account manager, Clarence ARUSIUKA, he owned up to the error but was unwilling to rectify the situation. When I told him in plain English that I would not be paying the outstanding bills he did suspend our account.

To conclude Companeo provides poor quality leads that will not meet your criteria and run your bill up as high as possible by not adherring to your budgetary requirements.

They have finally owned up and credited some of the bill yet they are still trying to charge for businesses established in 2011. Considering we were buying these leads in 2011 I would of thought the would be classed as Start ups and therefore not meet our criteria. The battle continues.

I literally just signed up with this company. Then, before I even received a lead, I got a marketing email - offering a first lead for free. So have told them to sod off.
I see others mentioning good lead gen companies, other than Approvedindex (because we use them), who are they?
Thanks.

They are supposed to be providing a choice of tariffs for businesses but they only have ONE Telecoms provider for Northern Ireland who they say has "Exclusive" rights to all Northern Ireland enquiries... meaning other companies who are cheaper cannot offer their services to N.I. customers. Now shouldn't that be illegal?
