Anyone Sell On Amazon?

Hello all,

Are any of you Amazon Pro Merchant, how do you find it?

I have been selling on ebay for the last couple of months & sales are good. I recently opened a Amazon seller account which is working out well, I have sold about 10 items in the last couple of days, what I want to know am I likely to see a great increase in sales if I become a Pro Merchant?

Also ebay rank you on "best match" how do Amazon sort searches?

Thankyou all Chris

Hello

I used to have an ebay business, and many of my items were also listed on amazon and another well known retailers site.

of all three selling channels, ebay was by far an away the best, amazon was quite poor. I also found amazon for my catagory listings to be extremely competitive in comparison to ebay and the other. I didnt see the benefit in going pro merchant.

Taking into account the selling fees on amazon are high compared to ebay, I found that it was not really worth spending my time on amazon.

It does ultimately depend on what you are selling, but I would focus more on ebay if I was you and go for powerseller status if you dont have it.

But this is juts my opinion

Ive been selling on Amazon just for a short while 3 months + and find i get more sales through amazon then ebay. Although probably 50% are around europe and ebay tends to be mostly UK based. If you do want to start selling around Europe then i would recommend it. Though the 30 quid a month is a bind i find i can also have a slightly higher product price which when added to the extra charges Amazon add on for delivery seem to balance out.

Guess this would depend on what you are selling and how competitive the marketplace is.

You won't see much difference by becoming a Pro Merchant but if you make 35 sales a month which it sounds like you will then it does work out cheaper. In the same way an ebay shop works out cheaper if you list more than 75 items/month.

Over time if you build up good feedback there are benefits such as the opportunity to get the blue buy now box on Amazon if you are a Pro Merchant. You also get a bit more flexibility to set your own postage rates.

Just make sure you create a new Seller Central account, and not upgrade your Marketplace account to get the extra benefits.
