you cant get one i looked for weeks 2.5yrs ago and nobody does them, its hard enough finding one on a 15.6" standard one let alone 17". But actually you do get used to it as the keyboard on a 17" (or bigger) is big enough, assuming you are so used to not having the numeric pad.

17" screens are pretty wide so there's going to be a lot of empty space around the keyboard without a number pad. So they will all have the number pad.

17" is more of a desktop replacement laptop than a 13" which is complementary to a desktop.

I've a Dell Inspiron without a numpad which i'm pretty sure is a rather large screen (I think it might be 18inch though). To be honest, I hate not having one! The keys glow which is good in low light conditions but the keyboard itself is no bigger in size due to the extra room. They have just spaced the keys out a little more (again, which is annoying!)

That's just dumb, I can understand keys being reduced in size for netbooks but increasing the keys, or the space between them is stupid because the non-standard layout will make it difficult for people to use - touchtypers will find it impossible to use.

Exactly. Does my absolute nut in to be honest! I jump often between the laptop and desktop while at work so it's quite frustrating!
