I have had 5 customers enquire about post I sent out 11th & 12th January. I wondered if a bag of post went missing but these queries are from Lancashire, Leeds & Cheshire so all north of the country and I checked others I sent that day by checking if they had left feedback on Ebay and many had but all were down south. Only 3 of the missing parcels are from my ebay site so Ive not had a flood of enquiries (yet) I have heard that similar to the postal strikes RM (even though they deny this occurs)have pushed the backlog aside and new post jumps over it and they then eat into the backlog as they can. Has anyone else experienced postal problems for these dates?
If it is a bag gone missing I dread to think of the ramifications.:(

interesting - I'm waiting for a small package that was sent normal mail despatched on 14 jan from Norfolk and am still waiting. I know its been sent ok because I know the people. Been dealing with them 15 years and this the first bit of post from them thats been so delayed so must be an overall problem for many I assume.....

We have gone for 2 or 3 days recently with no mail whatsoever - the reason given was the bad weather. Also sent out next day specials which never got there and the reason was - progressing through the postal system.
Our local post office say that they have had tons of parcels backed up in the depot from before Christmas which were never delivered and trying to get through these is having a knock on effect with all their other mail.

I've got one for that date but I've had a huge increase in WIZMO* enquiries since the beginning of Jan and the snow coming down. I think Royal Mail is sitting on a huge number of parcels and could do with exposing by a daily paper or interferring magazine program on the telly.

There are TWO incidences i am aware of.

1. Drop zones - these are nice official sounding places, where bags are dropped off, to be collected by the postie later for delivery.

Only they are peoples houses, and it is simple as this. 'Do you mind if we drop mail bags off in your garage/porch/house for the postman to collect?' - that is it, no security checks, nothing!

What happened recently in the Yorkshire area recently was, post was going walkies...in the end it was found out after a few years of investigation, that the bloke who lived in the house - or 'drop zone' was pilfering the valuable post!

2. Meanwhile, down south, the same problem was happening............after an internal investigation, it was traced to the mail central hub for the south west, and the MANAGER was pilfering post!

Look into other means...RM are getting unreliable and untrustworthy! I know these are not always every day occurances, but how many have we NOT heard about?
