Know your ratios and put in the effort every day.

It takes A calls to reach B people. It takes B contacts to get C demos. It takes C demos to get D proposals. It takes D proposals to get E closed sales orders.

Track your progress every day versus target. Are you making the calls needed? Are you reaching more/less people than planned? etc, etc

Track your pipeline at each stage, each day - know where you are and where you're going (target) and whether you're on-track or not, so it's no surprise at the end of the month when you hit or miss.

I can give advice on social media and a tip or two there. If you are looking to social media for 'selling' then it's a process. You don't use social media to sell (immediately) anyway. You engage with converstaion, tell stories, share experiences, and, if you do receive engagement back then GIVE. If you are able to add value for someone without them digging into their pocket firstly they are more likely to come back to you when they do need your help. Give advice, help people, go the extra mile. There's a guy called Gary Vaynerchuk - follow him on social for great advice

Hi @Mike_Cartwright

My general advice is:
  • Understand what keeps your customer awake at night
  • Communicate how you can take their pain away
  • Build something of value that people want
  • Create something unique
  • Focus your business completely around your customer
  • Don't ever drop your prices for the sake of it
  • Don't copy your competition
  • Listen to your customers regularly (they are on the front line)

Don't give up on prospect just because they say know the first time, unless "it's never contact me ever again". It Can take up to 7 contacts to build trust before someone will buy from you.

Keep detailed records of everyone you contact and what the conversations were each time you spoke.

Build a friendship first, sell second

Loads of soundbites which do have some relevance.

My favourite is people, buy people.

Your product or service is almost secondary, take time to build a relationship with the prospective client, ask them questions, let them talk, listen for ques to pick up on.

If they like you more than the others, chances are you get the sale.
