Any sales and marketing books that would you like to recommend?

Sales and marketing books that you think are must-have and must-reads. Or books that you've recently read and enjoyed.

Recently, I finished The Science of Selling by David Hoffeld. Great book as it uses science (psychology, neuroscience, behavioral science) to show how human brains form and execute buying decisions. This book will help salespeople understand their prospects more.

What are your book recommendations?

The Ultimate Sales Machine by Chet Holmes

Nice book with real substance.

Small Data by Martin Lindstrom

A cracking good read. This might not tell you how to directly market your product or service but will give you a whole new perspective on why people buy certain products.

Hi @Mike_Cartwright,

I would recommend Purple Cow by Seth Godin. It will teach you how to create something that stands out form the crowd. Actually, anything by Seth Godin is good.

Also, another quick read is The Story of Telling by Bernadette Jiwa. This book is about understand your customer and using your marketing to tell a story so your brand resonates with your customers.

Too many companies have little patience and go for the deal-closer / hard-sell. Instead, they should build something of value and communicate towards the customer's pain points.

Two great books (also available on Audible). Enjoy!

I have three favourites : 2 very old

1 Even More Offensive Marketing : Hugh Davidson
About 20 years old and maybe out of print : I pick up s/h copies online from time to time & give them away; a mighty tome which is best dipped in-to from time to time to re-energise one little grey cells.

2 Spin Selling : Neil Rackham
Again pretty old ; sales careers built on this : very useful for complex B2B sales.

3 Watertight Marketing : Bryrony Thomas
First published 2013 - so pretty current plus useful stuff on her website
Great book : bite sized chunks to get messages across : beautiful simple fresh look at the ubiquitous Marketing Funnel.
