Any printers around?

I am re-branding, need new letterheads, compliment slips and business cards.

It would be useful if I can send a design with colouring as an example for someone to come up with some ideas to then print.

Cheers

Not trying to sound rude but, Why dont you just go to your local printer, every town has them?:|
People insist on getting the cheapest price, when it isnt always the best job? and with resellers around everywhere now in my trade it really is annoying, as most really havent got a clue about the business.
Help your local small business.

Where did I say I want cheap or knock down printing? If a local printer had come on here for example and said I am 5 minutes away, I would have went to them.

There are 5 printers within a few miles of me but what makes any of them as good as the ones offering on here?

I am well aware of resellers in the market place as well, but that still does not mean they wont provide the service I want.

my point is, you have a small shop or whatever. selling whatever, but all your locals go elsewhere... All im saying is support your local businesses, including you. instead of looking on the net, take 10 minutes out and go and see them.
If we dont start supporting all the local small businesses then we will all eventually go bust

I dont disagree with your point plotter, supporting your local business is important. I would doubt anyone on here would argue that point.

However these days it's down to the local business owners to go out and get their customers, not expect them to come their way, I certainly dont, would be out of business by now. Thats how it is these days and I am sure you aprpeicate that.

Being a UK business forum and a popular one with a Scottish section is a good way to trade your services as one opportunity for the local business to get their name known and perhaps some business.

I totally agree IF you can get the service to the standards that are available elsewhere. I wouldn't buy substandard food just because its local, so why would I buy substandard services or print work? The vast majority or 'local' printers/designers are just not up to the task of producing the quality that we find acceptable, and I do know because we have been in the business for over 15yrs and mostly the local guys are over priced, slow, rubbish quality and tend to cock up jobs on a daily basis.

Is printing not an industry where you can do exactly that, resulting in a wider scope of appeal than local. For info, I got a call back from a local printer, stays about 2 miles away. Quoted me:

1,000 Letterheads
1,000 business cards
1,000 compliment slips

Providng I give him the design, it's £395 + VAT

hmmm, no deal I think and said local printer can find another local business to support him at those prices, because I wont :)

admittedly that is expensive, i would only charge roughly about £200 for that all in, without working out exactly. Im sure someone here will say im expensive and they can do it cheaper, these are the people who dont even actually own a press and are just trying to make a quick buck.

^^ That last part I do agree with.

And I have now selected a designer for this project. When I choose a printer it will be someone who does have their own press and will actually know what they are doing rather than just handling a design that ends up with someone else.

ah, getting there, I hate jobs like this, I would rather be harrasing, em, sorry canvassing landlords for their business :)
