I Must agree they are horrible but I have one very scary lady on www.Motormoves.com

Before we put the weird woman on we had a very high bounce rate since putting it on the bounce rate has more than halved and the number of listings has gone up significantly.

My conclusion is that, weird though she may look and robotic though she may sound, people just pause that extra second or two to hear what the message is and that gives the visitor a little more time to absorb the message of the site before deciding if the site is relevant rather than a knee-jerk reaction of "this ain't for me" and disappearing.

Costs peanuts to setup and try.

She is scary! I have visted a few sites with the characters on and I do tend to listen to the message.
