Any good alternatives to ASANA project management?

I have the basic plan now, working on a new business idea with a co-founder...

We are using the basic/free plan, but already seeing limitations.

Anyone know of any software that is free and effective?

For instance, you can set end dates of tasks, but not start dates, and I dread to think what else is not included in the free plan! I understand they have to make money but as a start up with no revenue, we can't justify the price plan at this second, maybe they could be a little bit nicer and give us some actual functionality and by the time we have revenue we would be willing to pay the monthly plans.

Anyone using anything?

Sign up for a Microsoft OneDrive Live account - it's free
Launch the browser version of Excel - it's free
Use the Project Timeline template - it's free

And see how you get on - being cloud based you can share with other users.

You could try Jira, this also requires a license fee, I’m not sure if there is a free version available, but I’ve always found this tool very useful for project management. I have also used Monday and trello. the issues you are having with Asana might be in your initial configuration.

I like Zenkit. If you are just in the planning and start-up phase with your co-founder, you can use it effectively between you. For up to 3 collaborators, you can use the free plan. There are dozens of customisable templates for different needs; I only use a few.
