Any document shredding service recommendations?

Hi all - I've a one-off document shredding requirement. It's about 7 bags of stacks of paper about 70-80cm high.

I either hire an industrial-strength shredder and get a temp in for a few days or pay someone to take it all away.

Taking it away seems like the better solution to me - any suggestions of reliable shredding services that do pickups in the South East? I'm down in Kent near Tonbridge.

Thanks in advance!

There are many shredders who will come on-site with their van and shred it before your eyes.

I can't comment on who is best because I was with one company who cancelled last minute and couldn't get back out for 2 weeks. In the end I shredded everything by hand using a mains operated small office shredder with copious amounts of oil which was a right PITA!

edit: I have found the details, I was otherwise quite happy with their service. What annoyed me about the cancellation was that I was last on the guy's round and because he was late, he went over his alotted hours or something. I waited all day for this mug to turn up!

Their prices are competitive though, this was back in 2009:

shredcare.co.uk

5, 10 or 25 sacks: £39.50, £49.50 or £99.50. This is for collection (not on-site) and you get a certificate of destruction.

They also do on-site shredding, most places need you to do price of minimum 10 sacks or 200kg for on-site shredding, shredcare do:

" initial charge of £9.75 (plus VAT) for the delivery of the sacks, there is a call out charge of £49.50 (plus VAT) and the cost per sack is £4.00 (plus VAT). The Certificate of Destruction is free."

At the time I had 2 sacks so I was happy to pay 70 quid to save me a week's worth of shredding manually, max 6 sheets at a time! :D

Apart from the cock-up, I thought they seemed like a decent company.
