Sophos at the moment on this machine and Avast on my Linux box.
Kaspersky is pretty good, well unless you run XP -

Used to loved Bit Defender, used it for years then it got very bloated and pricey. Went back to AVG free and not had any issues.
I work in IT and find all these laid ones the same as any freebies.
Its a matter of time and just a myth they are any better I think!
go for Microsoft security essentials

For home users there are pros and cons for each AV product, for proper business/enterprise use then no free product offers a decent level of control over multiple machines, central updates etc.
Sophos do one of the better enterprise AV solutions, along with sanctuary for end point contol and safeguard for drive encryption, which they got by buying out Utimaco. Truecrypt is very good for encryption too though and that's free.
Sadly the malware writers are well ahead of the game and thus no anti-virus software provides a substitute for sensible, safe browsing on the part of the user.
I'm not suggesting for one minute anyone should go without AV, as it does protect against known threats, but make no mistakes, it isn't a silver bullet solution.
we get a lot of customers that use all different anti virus products most turn around and say that they have been using it for years and not had 1 virus, so my question to them is how do you know that you don't have viruses as most hide away from getting detected, unless you know what you are looking for you, you won't spot a virus.
you will be surprised at many how viruses you can find on a system sometimes, and they are getting harder to spot and remove.
Hi, Friends,
Are you use Norton and Mcafee antivirus support tool...is best
I fixed a computer the other day, they had McAfee protection and their computer was swarming with viruses, so I got rid of McAfee and installed AVG... no problems since. They had browser windows popping up out of nowhere and all sorts. It's not the first computer I have seen with Mcafee and viruses... They all have similar types of viruses as well.
So, just my opinion but stay away from Mcafee!
The thing is McAfee is a virus lol
Recently i am using McAfee anti-virus application and have an unusual issue. When I start my computer and go to my account, to download a malware, the pop up appears that the pc file is a malware and what do I want to do? So, i am really unable to understand and diagnose the message. Any help?

Actually, I have already installed the McAfee anti-virus. But whan i turn on my computer, a message appears to upgrade it. And when i try to upgrade it through my web browser, then a pop-up appears, which is consistently irritating me, and i am unable to resolve it.
IMHO unless you expect your business to grow to multiple people you're better off saving your money with the free anti-malware software. Most of them use similar algorithms and black-lists these days. More important that you figure out a way to protect your smartphone if you have one, the PC solutions are quite standard

Managed antivirus is far Superior then any stand alone security, because your getting the support from someone who knows.
You would say that wouldn't you?
Go on then, give me ONE working example of how your managed malarky is superior to our networked Kaspersky Pure...
...sorry for the abrupt reply but you have not added one thing to this conversation apart from a shameless plug
and that ticks me off!!!
