Anti virus safe sites

Hi,

I had a look at my website in Google results on a family members computer and realised Norton anti virus had a question mark next to my sites name. To get the site to show as safe I had to verify my site with Norton and wait for the site to be tested. It is now showing as safe.

Is there any other anti virus programs that I should be verifying my site with? I'm not too sure which ones work the same way as Norton does with the Google search results.

Thanks.

I found the same. I've had 5 sites reviewed so far and still awaiting 2 more. It says about 2 weeks. I'm on about 6 weeks and waiting from date of submission.

As for other vendors, Mcaffee do a scheme but it's aimed more at secure sites with a badge of honour, so to speak when you're "Mcaffee Secured". However, it's probably a premium service.

The only reason you see the Norton tick or question mark etc in your search results is because you have a recent Norton product installed. I thought Google had done an upgrade but turns out it's the software.

Personally I'm irritated. Whilst it highlights sites to me which are potentially harmful, from a customer point of view, which site are they more likely to click, the one with the green tick or the one with the grey question mark.

If Norton weren't providing the validation service for free, I'd accuse them of protection rackets!
