Hi

New member on the forums.

Currently have a cPanel account with TSOHost after being moved over from Vidahost recently whom I have been with for years.

The cPanel account with them is in a mess as they created it when they merged a cPanel account and also one of their Cloud accounts for me, wish I had done it myself but had other issues at the time.

Currently exploring my options as to whether to stay and start again with TSOHost with a new clean account of move away.

From reading around, I have narrowed it down to a few options: Krystal Hosting, Kloudhost, UKHosting.net & HostXNow as potentials.

Am not in need of anything fancy, three websites currently - one which is just a domain for family emails. The other two are physical HTML, CSS & Javascript based websites - no Wordpress or other CMS systems.

Seems to be plenty of thoughts on here for Kloudhost and HostXNow and I note that they also are active on the forum which is great. Anyone have anything to add etc for the other two.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the forums.

The only positive feedback we've seen from your shortlist would be HostXNow - who are members.

Do you mean HostingUK.net?
They have been commented on recently:
https://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/threads/problems-with-hostinguk-net.388755/

They're owned by iomoart so pretty mass market.

Kyrstal Hosting are generally well rated, but also a larger host, and their phone support was recently commented on by another member:

They migrated the site from TSO Host (for a small fee) but overall their service was pretty much as you described above - i.e. I'd call and was referred back to raising a ticket. Not an awful service, but not exactly 'phone support' either.

I believe they have pretty low resource limits (250MB of RAM per account if I remember correctly).

I would expect more personal service from HostXNow based on comments, although we've never dealt with them. They're a smaller provider compared to the others.

We have however dealt with Vidahost/TSO Host on a regular basis, and regularly migrate clients from them.

Any decent provider will do this free of charge.

I'm surprised we haven't come in your searches though, unless you only looked at recent posts?

We've been mentioned lots of times over the years:
https://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/threads/well-done-hi-hosting.346611/

I personally haven't been posting as much recently though, as we tend to get a lot more orders when we do, and we try to keep new client numbers steady.

If you have any questions then feel free to get in touch, happy to help.

Best of luck,

Dan

You really should find out if the potential hosts are resellers or if they have all their own stuff. Data centres and infrastructure that won't impact service but will bump up the cost.

This ^^ and also if you search for TSOHost on the forum there is another recent topic that covers this all rather well. Sadly I'm unable to post links as don't have the minimum post count.

Best of luck with your search!

Krystal are the best provider from your shortlist - established business, proven track record, owner who is not selling or disappearing any time soon.

Good to see we are being mentioned lately. I have posted a bit more here lately as good to use different sites than racking up 10k plus posts on just one of two forums. :)

And yes, as mentioned by another member in that even though we've been running for just over 8 years now we're still a much smaller provider compared to other providers like Krystal who have lots of servers, customers, staff; they have acquired many providers and the last one didn't go too well i.e bigger is not always better, but Krystal is definitely the masters at marketing. With HostXNow being smaller we can offer much more personal support and offer more generous resources which are very important as 9/10 the more resources your site has to use the faster it will load which is very important for the big Google. We of course help with website optimisation too that a lot of the big providers would not do.

So yes, we're all about getting your website to load as fast as possible and offer the fastest support around and that is what many seem to like about us the most.

If anyone has any questions for us please do email us at [email protected]

    All the best,
    Christopher
