Another child goes missing

I have had plenty of holidays abroad with my children when they were small and enjoyed all of them but then I never let my children out of my sight and we always dined together regardless of the time....the holiday was for them as well as me and hubby. There was however one occasion at a very busy resort in majorca where we we trying hard to find a space to sit down next to a pool...I turned round for one second and my daughter disappeared. There were so many people there I could not see her I was so frantic, clearly upset to all around me and shouting my daughters name. Luckily for me she had been quickly found and a gentleman took me to the first aid cubical to pick her up. This all happened in a matter of minutes. The scariest few minutes of my life...she would have been about 4 at the time this happened. Even up to 2 years ago I would not let my children wander off anywhere by themselves when we were abroad my reason being what would they do if they got lost and were unable to to get help because they couldnt speak the language.

I agree with you there dizzy.I don't let my kids out of my site on a daytrip out in this country so why do it abroad. However the fact there are 'organisations' out there preying on small children sickens me . Yes they mau have always been there but not on an international scale like now.Punishments must be tougher. There are lots of reasons why someone may abduct a child but none of these are excusable. The world has changed, its ten times worse.:(
I can still remember what it was like to play outside and walk home from school in primary school. My kids won't have those memories.:(

Nothing wrong the world, nothing has changed except the media.

Media and Justice Systems.

Gone are the day we'd stick 'em in the gallows, or hang the pricks.... no, a little slap on the wrists and a £50 fine.

Just the other day a guy was stopped for speeding, had no insurance, no drivers licence, and was actually already banned from driving. Because it wasn't his car, the police can't crush it.

And to make things even better, thanks to our UK Judicial system, the guy got a £250 fine (which we end up paying anyway) and a 2 year driving ban... eh... what? Another driving ban? But he was driving anyway with a ban!

Yup :)

We shouldn't have fines... we should just have finger-breaking, toe-taking, and arm-mutilation.

Job Done.

yup, harsher penalities.Look at the 3 boys sentenced yesterday for the murder of that poor man.One of them was out on bail:eek: You can't tell me the police don't know who is liable to reoffend etc so surely they have should have a bigger say in things.

:(i have been following this case very closely on forums since last may and the amount of inaccurate and controlled reporting is quite disgraceful.... i think you will find that "near" actually means in a different country and over 100 miles apart......i for one am sick of the spin in the media, they need to be held to account over what is being published regarding the madeleine situation....:( just my opinion
