Despite the fact that I earn money from it, it really bothers me how much money smaller operators throw at their fitout.
So much so that I wrote a post on it

I've just started reading your blog and couldn't agree more, about 3 years ago we relocated our showroom, i didn't borrow any money and we had very little to do it with so we did it slowly, the place was far from finished when we opened but i think our customers appreciated what we were doing and ultimately they bought from us, despite the polished, glitzy showrooms around us. It's only recently i've felt it's more, completed. Although we still have the ups and downs, the downs are much easier to cope with and the showroom's looking pretty fancy, too. Now I need more guidance on my "route"...
