An alternative to Sage Pay?

I am about to launch a new web site and e-commerce platform. Having only just taken over the company I find we are using Sage Pay. My company is having problems (as everyone else seems to) with Sage Pay. Transactions to do not complete etc etc.

My easiest and cheapest option would be to integrate my current Sage Pay set-up into my new e-commerce platform. Easy/cheap aren't always best though as it looks like I shall be inheriting a load of problems. So.....

Who else is out there that I could use? Someone has mentioned World Pay to me but they seem very expensive. I would be looking to complete around 300 transactions per month, UK customers only.

I also want to set-up a PayPal account. This also looks expensive at over 3% per transaction. I don't suppose there is any other option but to accept this charge though. Or is there.....

Your experiences and recommendations would be REALLY appreciated.

Hi Sara,

We offer a basic package at £18 per month which includes 350 free transactions and only 9.9p thereafter (more competitive than Sagepay and Worldpay). We never charge set up-fees and don't charge for additional services like 3D secure and Virtual Terminal.

Our system integrates with most of the leading shopping carts out there and we offer ongoing integration support at no extra cost. We can also look at getting you a better deal on your merchant account if you're looking to review that too.

The key difference we have to competitors is that 100% of our profits go to charity.

Feel free to drop me a pm if you have any questions.

Marc.

Hi Sara,

If you are looking for an alternative Payment Gateway then you might want to consider ourselves. We offer some of the lowest rates in the UK and offer excellent customer support. We have been PCI Level 1 accredited ever since PCI was introduced and previous to PCI we were AIS accredited (AIS has now been absorbed into PCI). We provide a customisable Pay Page for secure website payment processing - we also have a Virtual Terminal option for MOTO (Mail Order/Telephone Order). Our service works in conjunction with several acquiring banks and many shopping carts. Click the link in my signature to visit our website and find out more. Feel free to ask for myself if you do get in touch.

Thanks,

Simon

Hi Sara

We've just switched from Sagepay to Total Web Solutions.

The set up process with Total Web Solutions was pretty painless and the backup from their technical support guys was very prompt compared with Sage Pay.

We're using Cardsave (a forum member) for merchant services as they offered by far the best value quote, not only in terms of credit card processing fees, but also debit card fees.

Cardsave are fully integrated with Total Web Solutions, so no problem there, and can handle Mail Order as well as online transactions

Hope this helps, if you have any specific questions you can always PM me.

Bobby.

Hi Sara,

Sorry to hear about your current issues. Right now you can try our payment gateway for free for 30 days without any obligations. It has 99.99% uptime and we offer continued support to all our merchants. Our rates are also flexible and competitive.

You can contact one of our payments specialists on 0800 810 0136 to discuss through your options or DM me your contact details and we will get in touch.

All the best :)

Hi Sara, if it is not too late I hope you will consider Nochex.

Processing around 300 transactions per month puts your company into our sweet spot so far as charges are concerned; we charge 2.9% + 20p per transaction and we don't charge a monthly fee. It may be a little late in the day but until the end of August we are offering a free account set-up (the regular price is £50).

We're also UK based and all of our Merchants are UK based too.

It sounds like you may already have found a supplier, but one piece of advice I would give any online merchant is to always have an alternative supplier lined-up in the event that for whatever reason your first choice are no longer able to support you, at least then you have a fallback option.

Good luck with your business.

Kind regards,
- Peter (I work for Nochex)
