Amazoned Domain Advise

Hi,

I brought the domain www.amazoned.uk & www.amazoned.eu am looking to see what people think its worth i have not done a Trademark search yet but Amazon own the .com domain so maybe trademark issues recon it's worth anything?! or am i wasting my time and money i paid for it? any advise would be good

Wasted money I think - because any attempt to use it with any association with Amazon is clearly going to get you caused of passing off, trading on their name and reputation. To be frank, it's also a stupid name, and a clear fudge on Amazon's name. Nobody is going to pay you for it and the trouble that comes with it.

I only paid £15 to register them so it's not a lot of money to loose i was offered a few hundered pounds for them of a few people but i was just being silly i did not think that i would get my money back funny thing is that the guy that own's the .co.uk wants a huge amount of money for his one it was on ebay for £1,000,000 or best offer !

You are wasting your time.

I would advise not trying to trade off other people's intellectual property when registering domain names.

Complete waste of time and money ....even if it's 'just £15'! At 15p it'd have been too much.

That said, if you can find some mug to take them off your hands, you might get your money back or a bit more. Doesn't necessarily mean you'll avoid aggravation though.

Well I've got tescoed.com and ebayed.com if you want those as well? My most valuable one though, and I probably won't sell it unless I get an exceptional offer, is virgined.com.

The OP needs to understand what "Passing Off" means, as well as the possible costs and damages this can/will lead to.

Been there done that, I bought AlternativesToAmazon.com some years ago and made a few quid with it. Amazon sent a standard email from them tralling the internet for domains with the term Amerzon. I didn't respond and never heard anything else. I had the domain on sale for the last 2 years and never had any interest so it'll be dropping in about 90 days if you want it.

I've also got alternativestoebay.com but I think I'll be using that one day.
