I've put this in Time Out as more of a personal question.
I purchased a Fitness Band from Xiaomi via Amazon. The strap detaches from the body and has a will of it's own to do so, so after 6 months and several near losses I've requested a repair or replacement.
Xiaomi want a serial number that was on the original packaging that I dispensed with shortly after purchase but Amazon have jumped in and offered a replacement band on return of the faulty item. To my surprise the replacement will apparently be with me tomorrow. Part of the deal was that I update my card details which leads me to ask whether Amazon will inspect the return and charge me if they think it questionable, or is it simply to ensure they get the item back regardless?
