You are advertising amazon. And presumably you will be tracking their price and altering your price accordingly?
I have a lot of customers who order stuff from Amazon so id be advertising the fact im cheaper then them.
I will be tracking the prices but ill put at the bottom prices correct on that date just so if amazon do put the price down im covered

Could say its much less risky to use utilitywise for a commercial energy broker as well.

We recommend rather than supply, so its more like saying choose a Big 6 supplier over a startup, which many customers do, even if the startup is cheaper.

But yes, there are customers that will only go to a large PLC energy broker, regardless of the actual offering or service.

For my £1 extra, here is what I get.

  • I have a very long order history with Amazon stretching over years, this builds a strong loyalty.
  • Hassle free, next day delivery (prime member)
  • Easy returns with no fuss.
  • Speed of ordering and checkout

How do you dislodge the question of value that Amazon brings when you are offering a cheaper alternative.
I'm sure eBay sellers beat both you and Amazon pricing for products but how are you better, if your value proposal is entirely based on low cost, it is a race to the bottom and a lazy approach to trying to win a sale.

You'd probably get all of that with OP, especially if he's using Paypal so you're covered anyway.

Jesus we all may aswell give up if everyone is happy to pay 10% more to order from Amazon lol.

Perhaps he's going for those who don't want to pay amazon.
There is a customer demographic who will choose cheapest option. Which could be the OP, could be someone else.

I've not seen what the OP has but this is what he is up against.

10% more to buy from Amazon? More like £1 difference. For convenience and repetition? Done deal. What is his account creation page like, the checkout process, all these little things need to be as good as the previous experience or beat it in some way.

Now if that 10% more was for a 3 figure item like a TV, you might catch people. For the sake of £1 difference, not enough incentive for buyer behaviour to change. Leading on price seems obvious but its a race to the bottom.

And amazon can cut its price too.
Below what small (as in under a billion a year in sales) sellers can price at..

In that case, they'll go with Wish on Facebook which is pretty much the cheapest thing out there for product drop-shipping (Assuming this is what the OP is doing, might be wrong)

You either need to be different, faster, unique, better then Amazon to compete.

Unique - Do you have a product only you make and supply, bingo.
Faster - Nigh impossible given their distribution and logistics
Different - Brand value, good cause, (Toms Shoes)
Better - Support, checkout, service, insert other items here.

I would see it as a challenge, go searching on Amazon to see if I could find it cheaper and probably end up buying from there even if it wasn't

We are a retail shop, But people generally think online is cheaper hence get there products online,
Im trying to show them that we are online prices so they are more likely to come in.
With amazon they have to wait for there order to get delivered but with a shop they can just come and collect it

With a shop you usually HAVE TO come and collect it. With amazon I can order and get it delivered next day without going outside the house.
Can you offer your customers the ease of ordering and ease of receiving the goods that amazon can?

Nope but if you need it the same day we are open for you to collect.
I hear on facebook groups i advertise in alot of people saying they no longer go to shops as they can get it cheaper online but thats not the case with us so im just trying to advertise that going online isnt going to save you money but coming in is. but seems more hassle then its worth

We are city centre and when im handing out leaflets etc outside the shop ive had customer tell me they get it cheaper online without even coming in the shop

City centre works even better - people already having travelled in to the area.

Most things I can get cheaper online. Exception being food (there are places to get cheap food) and fuel.
Was looking on a German site with the wife last night, a great site and they will do streaming video in the shop of anything people require a demonstration on.
    https://www.thomann.de/gb/traditional_instruments.html

I don't think I'll buy instruments unless in the area but for ideas I'll keep an eye on the site.

It’s definitely more hassle than it’s worth. For a Prime member like me, there’s very little out there that can beat Amazon’s level of service including the superhuman delivery service and a crazy returns window (I once returned a pair of shoes a year after purchase!). Find another USP - bespoke goods, chill out space for children whilst parents shop, hand delivery if within a certain distance, etc

    You're fighting the wrong competition.

In a price / convenience war you're going to lose to Amazon every time. They're seen as being cheaper, to the point the many people wont bother comparing. They'll deliver anywhere the next day and never argue about a return or issue.

If you're a town centre shop, then you need to be targeting people already in town shopping, not those who want to buy online.

What do you offer that Amazon doesn't?

We went shopping at the weekend, everything that we bought is available online, possibly cheaper and probably from Amazon. We went to the stores for the service and advice.

Actually I'd think it's worthwhile if it's not too much cost and time on your part, my two biggest or rather most frequent purchases are either from Amazon or eBay and I do compare the prices of both most of the time! And 1£ makes a difference to me
