Am I being set up!

I think i am being set up at work, in windows explorer yo u can see when it was LAST MODIFIED and the OWNER, today the OWNER changed to my supervisors 2 mins before I was due to update the charts, BUT I NOTICED, so asked her, and she went red, but said she was never in the spreadsheet at all and spent the next 10 mins trying to prove this. I took a snapshot and not confronted her yet.

Can the OWNER and DATE MODIFIED change if you look at the spreadsheet but not change anything, I tries to do this and nothing happened, it only changed when I saved it.

Is there anyway I can track changes made?

What would the relevance of the "owner" be on the document? Half my documents have the owner set to my PA from 5 years ago back in the days of working for another organisation.

If you think they have changed the content then see if you can get a copy of it from the last backup and keep a copy of it.

What is in the document that could be used to "stitch you up"?

I doubt that she is 'setting you up'. It's more likely that she is checking if you have done something, or checking how it has been done. Of course she should just talk to you. Whatever she is doing she's not very good at it because you found out. I suspect that whatever she was doing will stop now anyway - she knows that you know! Denying it was naiive of her because IT logs do not lie.

I would write down exactly what happened and keep it, buy say nothing. If something else happens then perhaps you should ask her about it.
