Hi - just a spin off from my last thread regarding google adsense...

i'm new to website advertising. i've seen a good few websites now, and have paid more attention now to the adverts as i am at hte point of now considering adverts for my website. On the websites ive seen, they all have some sort of animated gif advertisng a certain product or company. This obviously isn't run by google adsense but by who? What alternative companies are out there, how do they work and are they worth it? Trade Doubler rings a bell?

also come across simply.com...is this something i should consider?

tradedoubler is an affiliate business (you pay a set fee for them per click, or a % of the spend on your website).

A good advertisement site is www.buysellads.com, you choose websites you want to advertise on then purchase an ad space. Can get expensive depending on the site, but it's more suited to technology / web based stuff.

A competitor to adsense is adbrite, it's slightly less more prominent and they allow more risky types of sites.

Seems to be 2 choices after Google Adsense:

1. AdBrite

2. Bidvertiser

or you could try individual affiliate programs, and target that way.... But IMHO, they can be choosy about who they accept/let in.

Forget Tradedoubler, their useless as I had them on my directory that boasts 12.5 million searches, and the only clicks that generated on TD's clients banners were 3 clicks in 4 months and Zero conversions.

My advice is dont use them... People just dont go around clicking on affiliate banners.
