We post around 200 large letters/small parcels a week on average but this can reach 500/600 (around 70/30 split to out of EU an to UK), we started using Click and Drop to improve costs and time, however turns out Click and Drop isnt for us, sending items valued between £30-£200 we have had over 50 items never be scanned into the system and effectively now lost with no way to get compensation. Anyway does anyone have any recommendations for other time and cost-effective ways to post this amount of items? The other courier companies i have looked into seem considerably more expensive.

For valuable items then using a service that covers the value would seem a necessity.
Special delivery in the UK will cover. No idea if can get separate insurance for non special delivery mail.

Couriers will tend to have low insurance with separate insurance you can pay for. Not cheap though.
When you checked with couriers did you check what discount they would give you for the volume?

Thanks for the reply, sorry may not have been very clear, we are paying for insurance etc but the problem we are having is we drop the bags off but items are going missing between then and when they are scanned into the system, so all we receive is messages saying we never dropped the items off in the first place. Yer sadly the big ones i could think off ( UPS, DHL and Fedex) couldnt come anywhere close to matching the royal mail on price so it may be back to taking all to the post office and just grinding through them all on a daily basis.

Report the place you drop items off to royal mail.
Items going missing they tend to focus on when its internal.

We don't have a problem with stuff going missing much. We do have a problem with getting royal mail bags where some small parcels or large letters are still in the bag having been sent days or weeks ago by someone else. Caught in the bottom of the sack, careless handling, spite, whatever reason. We hand those across when we come across them, however that can be a couple of weeks after we get a sack of sacks.
Could be some of your stuff someone else is finding in sacks much later.

Price - whatever price you get simply get your customers to pay.
One way or another they will be paying for your losses or your postage.

Do you mean you get 50 items lost a month? That's an insane number!

I've been searching for alternative way for the last 2 years and I've contacted so many courier services, I can tell that RM is the cheapest way! We do experince lost parcel issue - sending same ammount a day but the number of lost parcel issue not more than 10-15 per month. The only way to drop this number down is to go with tracked delivery and it's not worth it when we compare the price difference.

Do you have 2D tracking on parcel and large letter?
