Hello, hope you are doing well.

I am wanting to learn more about alternative investments to stock investing, as i have a few friends and family members i want to support with a few debt issues. With the easy access savings account in the UK offering less than 1% i wanted to look at other options. Does anyone kindly know any other alternative investments like wine, gold, art please and where to invest in this please? Does anyone kindly have any ideas or experience with alternative investments please?

Thank you for any replies and advice you can give, even if its only brief. Thank you very much.

All investments, regardless of the type, are fraught with risk and danger. Gold would be the safest bet in that lot, but here's the problem - it takes time, lots of time. And all that will happen is that your purchasing power will remain when the markets correct.

According to every major institutional investor, the markets will take a huge hit and when that happens, good assets often get sold to cover bad positions in bad assets. Even the latest position briefing paper from the Deutsche Bank places the S&P500 as a giant bubble about to burst.

What you are talking about is not investing - it is gambling. If you look at it like that, then I can give you the names of eight highly speculative Canadian and US silver and gold mine prospects and it would only need one of them to come in for all eight to be covered. (I bought all eight this week.)

But that is a gamble and not an investment. And be warned - those mines were on my shopping list after intensive research into who else is buying them. All eight have professional investors behind them with geology PhDs on their payroll and I had access to their research into the geology of the mines. That is who you are up against - professional investors who know what they are doing!

Your question really amounts to "How can I make some easy and quick money?"

If you ever find the answer, please tell me! All I know is that it ain't cryptos, it ain't shares, it definitely ain't art, it ain't rare wines - my 30 cents worth on those are avoid, avoid, hand on the wall and look at it and last, but by no means least, drink it.

As for friends and family being in debt - don't throw good money after bad!

You are in debt, thus you really have to be very careful with investment options. There are some good options that can give you a good return such as Forex, stock and cryptos. These are risky investment too if you do not know how to deal with them. I would suggest that you try your best to be debt free by working more hours or do very simple businesses with less return. Usually, business with less return are more consistent.

Think it needs to be clearer as who's money you are looking to invest, family & friends who are in debt or your own money. If the latter how is this plan going to help those currently in debt now. And more importantly what sort of figure are you looking to invest.

And what happens if your help turns out to increase their debt if the investments don't perform?

They won;t be your friends for long!

Use the money to pay off the debts.

The returns are guaranteed and will be more than you'd make on alternative investments, especially with no background knowledge.
