This website is probably half way to completion but I’d be grateful for comments so far.

The pictures are just random snaps as I won’t have the real pics until I have built one of the units.

Size options and checkout are still to be added but I’m keen to hear comments on how it looks so far.

I’m aiming for a very simple site which looks good on desktops as well as mobiles.

The site looks good. Clear, well-taken photos.

Now for some negative comments. Meant to be constructive, so please do not take them personally.

I personally find the text contains too much negative advertising in that it contains several references to what your poly tunnels are not and how other types of tunnels are inferior.

The comment about "serious growers" I think is a bit patronising and treats the reader and potential customer as a gullible amateur who thinks that they can be considered a "serious grower" just because they buy a poly tunnel. You want to attract growers of all types.

Most visitors to the site will be there because they want to buy a poly tunnel.

So the only thing you need on the homepage is the shop.

Everything else can go onto other pages.

The logo looks like the Forth Bridge.

Gecko - thanks for those comments, I do see what you mean.

Fisicx - so you are thinking the home page could be the product selection and checkout page ?
Do you know of any websites like that which I could look at ?
WIX? -A rather firm comment, could you explain why not?

Nochexman - I refer the honourable gentleman to line three of my opening post.

Yes. Same as your chicken run site. I don't care how long you have been in business for and I already know what a poly tunnel is - I'm here because I want to buy one.

Just about every ecommerce site in the world. And this one: https://www.premierpolytunnels.co.uk/shop/polytunnels/ Or this one: https://www.firsttunnels.co.uk/
WIX? -A rather firm comment, could you explain why not?.
Because Wix is pant's for speed, responsiveness, SEO, usability and everything else. If you want a site for your local rabbit fanciers club then wix is fine. For a business website it's rubbish.[/QUOTE]
Building an effective ecommerce site needs planning and a lot of preparation. The content and structure will depend on your marketing plan. You can't build a site and then explore marketing methods, you need to be 100% clear on how you are going to market the products and then build the website to match your campaigns.

I would get rid of the fading effect on page load and I would try to keep all page layouts consistent. The font could also do with a change.

Wix is a good place to start if you have no coding/design experience or if you can't afford to pay someone to build a website for you, so I would ignore all negative Wix comments. I have seen some impressive websites built on Wix.
