Hi guys, great forum, full of info!
I am setting up a business. I am working with a craft distiller that has all the licences required with the intention to produce vodka to sell to local pubs or local community (online and direct sales).
For myself, I am getting the personal licence and the alcohol warehouse registration scheme should not be an issue.
But premise licence is another story. I would consider but local authorities are touchy on the subject and my business is starting at home and even though I will be online and direct sales (ie no sale or consumption on the premise) the likelihood to get a premise licence on a non commercial property is pretty low.
So I am exploring the fulfilment avenues. But I struggle to really understand how it works and what is permitted as far as legislation is concerned.
The all in service would be I guess for my supplier to produce, bottle and send to a specialized fulfilment company that gets my customers order and dispatch accordingly. Am I right? This is obviously the most costly I guess.
In a sense, I therefore interpret that fulfilment is basically using someone else premise licence to execute the business.
So my supplier has a premise licence, so could I create a cheaper bespoke fulfilment service with him? My plan would be to produce on his premise, to store on his premise, when an order come to me (direct sale, online) I go to his premise send the parcel or deliver myself.
My question is more about the legality rather than the commercial viability.
Thanks for your help!
Cheers,
Handy
