Agents for overseas manufacture

Can anyone recommend a company who can help me out with getting a product fabricated overseas?

Ideally an agent who would negotiate on my behalf on prices for manufacture, minimum quantities, assembly and import, essentially quoting me a purchase price landed in the UK. They would sort all the hassle, import duties and currency fluctuation.

Basically like buying a product from a UK company that just so happens to make it abroad

Requirements are:

Fabricating 8 injection moulded parts
Sourcing of small electrical components
Sourcing of screws
Assembly (including soldering)
Applying transfers (possibly painting instead?)

Putting in a box and sending back to the UK.

you could try alibaba dot com. I have used it for some products.

for a only a few products it may be worth looking at uk companies, by the time you have paid for shipping and other bits it may actually work out cheaper here

have a look for rapid prototyping companies, other companies will also design and do work in short numbers

problems with china is they want numbers, it will cost you several $$$ for them to knock but will refund on full scale production (i forgot the name of this)

i will say though some are good, we had free work done by one factory, they took a production piece and modified it quite heavily for for us but we were already on good terms with them.

We can help you with this. Fatory based in Shanghai with moulding and assembly machines. Soldering we don't specialise in but can outsource. We already import goods from China every month so possible it can be consolidated.

Cost savings could be big if you are ordering in large volumes, otherwise it may work out better for it to stay in the UK.
