Hello,

I am new to this so please go easy on me if my question sounds stupid.

I have a website that offers customers discount codes. I post the discount code on the site and am getting quite a lot of clicks but hardly and sales. I think people may be getting the code and then going direct to the website and using the code that way, rather than using the code from clicking through.

Is there a way i can hide the code, and its only revealed once you have clicked through onto the website? If so how do you do this?

If anyone has any better ideas, please feel free to share.

ANY info you can provide will be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Do a quick test:
- remove the coupon code from the site, leave only the "discount rate".
- shorten the links using a shortener like bit.ly or goo.gl
- publish only the shortened link.
- use a "catchy call to action" like: "click this link to get the discounted price" or "click here to activate the coupon".

In the end some people may decide to "unshorten" the link to read the coupon code, but it's a boring procedure and unless you're dealing with geek/hackers/nerds (like me), most people will simply click and activate.

If this doesn't work...

a. the affiliate program may be missing your tracking code
b. people are not really interested in buying "now". Check with the partner programs, how long does it last the tracking cookie.
c. check if the affiliate system write your affiliate code inside the browser cookies
