Affiliate networks

Hello all,

Just wondered if many of you use affiliates networks and was it worth the time in signing up, payinfg the start up fee etc?

This is one avenue ive never tried for our retail websites but am giving it some thought.

Did you see a gradual climb in sales / hits and did it also seem to help with links to your site.

Any other help is grealty appreciated.

I would suggest doing it internally too.
Affiliate networks are good for finding affiliates but you are giving away your inbound links and the value the PR they generate.

Will take longer doing it internally but down the line, the PR will be worth the wait.

As stated above attracting the affiliates is the hardest part, we have been going for a couple of weeks now and have had a lot of people sign up and we are already seeing the orders come through from the affiliates.
Key to all of this is of course a good product that has a high conversion rate and also you need to offer a good rate of commission. ;)

clixgalore are a good option to start off with as requires minimal initial costs - however if you want to do it hardcore and not have to do it inhouse, you are looking at a monthly fee plus an override(percentage of all commissions paid to affiliates) on top of the commissions you pay to affiliates. This can add up but if the programme is successfula dn you budget it correctly, your paying people only when a sale is made so 'everyone is a winner'
