Some of these posts make it sound too easy. It was years ago but not so now. It's all about getting the site on page 1 of google and beware having a site with good traffic and then filling it with affiliate links. during the war you could buy an exact match domain, put 1 page site up mentioning the domain keywords a dozen times and it would be on page 1 next day. Then along came a penguin. 24 hours later Peoples £12k pm sites were on page 30 of google generating £0.
Don't think it's easy and don't put all your eggs in one basket. I have some keyword domains sitting unused due to the amount of effort involved now and some affiliate sites still up but untouched in years due to dropping out of google overnight.

Oh yes! I remember it only too well. September 2012....it killed all my EMD domains and income overnight. A very painful experience!

Niche is the most important factor that will contribute in your success. Concentrating on one particular niche will be more profitable rather that selling everything. Target a particular audience and stick to specific products.

Evolve around the niche you have build and promote products and services related to it.

Well I've been using amazon associates for just over a month, have a conversion rate now of 8.92% and have made £67 so far with £25 of that being made in 3 days last week. I've been testing a lot and found that text links are too easy for visitors to ignore as they scan rather than read and have found image links with captions work much better with better results.

Can't wait for the Christmas shoppers to start! Whoop-whoop!

It's always appealed to me, but i've never gotten involved in anything other than adsense. There was a year where i made 5k in google ads and didn't even touch the sites at all that year, which was nice.

I'm looking to monetise a local services site once i've finished it. Would be nice to get some sort of set up where you can get enquiries for your services but also shoe horn other things into the mix.

I don't think it's easy, but it helps if you know about SEO or you're stuck to spamming links in social media.

It really is quite hard as an affiliate these days, especially if you are just starting out. Google gives brands so much weight. If you are looking to get involved with online business, I would suggest you choose a product or service and develop a brand around it. I have been in the gambling niche since 2008 and cant vouch for how hard it is to rank a site well now.

Amazon aff marketing program is complete BS. I've tried to earn something for 8 months and gave up. There are many other affiliate programs which pay much more than amazon or ebay affiliate programs. I would recomend try these, just if you have hudge amount of traffic.

How much effort it takes you to make your visitor to click that affiliate link? If you have developed website already with traffic on the go, that's all right, you are ready to earn.
Othervise I would pay someone to get that traffic. An on aside try to gather community on social media or create own website (depending on your goal)

As long as your ROI is positive you pay less than earn you are good to go.

Most affiliate programs are not so good quality but the few that qualifies should be able to do well but it is all down to you and your ability to market. Usually you get 50% or more all depending. however it is not 2008 where you could kill doing adwords and courses were out to teach that.

Google want's content and you better be valueable on the topic so your linking and recommended affiliate products make sense to buy. I have yet to get into that kind of work which it is.
