Affiliate marketing advise

Hi all, anyone have any idea about this?

We are a UK new start up business with a domain portfolio of over 1500 premium .co.uk domain names. We are setting up to the lease the domains out, and are set to go live with phase one of our platform imminently. We already have a hadfull of domains signed up and leased, but getting through 1500 of them is going to need a strategy.

Affiliate marketing is attractive to me and I am looking for advise on the feasibility of setting up an affiliate program for this kind of service.

Just briefly, here is the sales process as it stands.

An interested party visits the site, comes across a domain they are interested in and then submits an enquiry for the domain. The information supporting the domain will include the price, and the website also points out the main terms for the lease agreement. Once an agreement has been signed up, a standing order is set up, or recurring billing on a debit or credit card, then we change the DNS to point to the requested name server.

We are happy to offer a rolling commission of 10% on any lease deal that is secured. Lease prices range from £100 per calendar month, up to £5000 + for the top level premiums, so the commission involved will be pretty substantial and recurring for the full duration of the lease term.

At this stage I had only considered 'resellers', for example SEO services, internet marketers and web developers etc whom would manually resell, but an automated affiliate scheme that may give me a quicker uptake is obviously something I would love to implement.

Any advice on the best approach to this will be very much appreciated

Not sure on the *best* best approach but you could always set up Paypal to handle the payments with it's Subscription and Mass Pay APIs.

When someone becomes a new customers, they would start a new subscription via Paypal.

This could also trigger an affiliate payment to the affiliate's Paypal account via the Mass Pay API.

Every subsequent month that the customer stays active, when a subscription payment is received, it would again trigger the affiliate payment.

This would automate the payments both from customers and to affiliates each month.

Sure, there are probably other services available to use but this is just an example.

Also makes it easy to pay affiliates as you can quite reasonably insist that they have an active Paypal account and not have to worry about bank transfers or anything like that.

Do you have any advise you can offer in regards to generating the affiliate leads? I have looked at Commission Junction but because our service is part manual (e.g. we respond to enquiries that may turn into a sale), i am not sure if it is something they (or other similar services) would look at?

VEry interesting, I think you will be best off having deals with Internet marketing companies...
In order to automate the process you will have to give away the negotiation part and make it automated with fixed price. Any one who signs up for a subscription through aff link gives commission to the owner of the aff link but will if be possible in your kind of sales process where you involve contract ?

There are not great affiliate programs for IM traffic but i will recommend you to try it out through adwords once so that you have your numbers before going to some affiliate network..

There are many UK specific affiliate networks out there as well other than CJ
