I'm pretty sure that Google are changing my Adwords campaigns without informing me.
I've been getting a lot of website form enquiries from geographical areas that we don't cover.
I run a minibus and taxi service which involves airport transfers in the Cheshire area.
As an example I've recently had a lot of enquiries for pick up/drop off around the Midlands/Birmingham areas and also some from South Wales.
I've just logged into Adwords and can see that lots of generic keyword phrases have appeared for example 'cheap taxi to manchester airport' or 'taxi to manchester airport'
I would never use such generic broad phrases as the PPC is so high and I end up with booking enquiries for area I can't be competitive in due to the distance and geography.
Can anybody explain this?

If you don't follow Perry Marshall, then get on his mailing list. He regularly highlights what Google are up to, which includes making changes to Google Ads campaigns without the permission of the account owner.

It may not be Google themselves though - sometimes it's about how your ads are configured. As well as the geo target areas you want to INCLUDE, you also have to add areas that you want to EXCLUDE.
