I am finding that I can get one conversion (a purchase) but when I check my site links I see the conversion showing as one for 3 or 4 site links. Is it meant to work that way ? Kind of makes it impossible to compare the success of each individual extension.
Hi, very good question. The answer comes a bit later but it might also help others asking the same question. Segment the ad extensions by Click-type, this way you'll be able to see where the conversion gets attributed to - Headline (meaning the ad itself), the sitelink or clicks to call.
Also, in google analytics, in Google Ads -> Sitelinks you can find a report showing performance for each sitelink. If you're tracking conversions in Google analytics, you'd be able to see which sitelink drove conversions and all kind of data additionally
