I'm after a bit of advice :)
I've 1000's of products in 100's cats and 1000's of sub cats, all with the same description, attributes and prices, but different pics and titles, I'm looking for a cart that will make creating cat/sub cats and adding all these a bit quicker than Virtuemart (even with bulk attributes and add images as products)

does anyone know of anything that might help

Much appreciated :)

hi,
most standalone open source shopping cart will help you.
best ones are 1) zencart & prestashop

cheers :)

Prestashop will allow bulk csv import without installing any extensions.
Zen Cart and OSCommerce are similar but will require you to install one of the free easypopulate extensions.
You will have to upload product images separately via FTP and edit the csv to point to the locations.
An XML feed would be easier if you can get someone to program one for you.
Both Zen and OSCommerce soloutions will allow you to amend products via csv/xml (e.g. amounts, descriptions etc).
Prestashop as far as I'm aware will not natively allow bulk editing.

I'd go with Prestashop.

IMHO it offers the nicest layout and has a huge amount of plugins that add value (although you do have to pay for the really advanced ones)

I also believe you can link it directly to Google Shopping (don't know if Zen can do this so not sure whether this is a huge benefit or not?)

i always install Prestashop software for my customers, because is a robust software and has a lot of addons, to import produtcs from other carts is always possible using a Csv file to import the products.
But may others shopping carts software work the same way to import products.

Regards,
Pedro
