Hi there, Im looking for some very basic advice please!
Im in the construction industry, my work mate and formed a LTD company and took on one employee on the books.
however I can see trouble ahead and think its best to go solo..
my partner and I used to work solo but we were having to ask customers for two seperate cheques, which is not really ideal! plus we needed to employ a joint labourer
What I want to do is trade under my old business name and also take the other 1 employee on my own books. I DO however want to continue to work with my mate on and off but not have joint books/accounts but Im not sure HOW to go about it.. I would assume I would pay him as a sub contractor or some thing?
so where do I start?
1) how do I go about getting my NEW trading name set up and ready to take on an employee, and how do I make the transition as smooth as possible. I want to keep every thing quite until every thing is ready to go!
2 how would I go about working with and paying the extra person on and off?
Please keep every thing simple for me!!
