If u wanted to set up a business in the selling of ebooks where would you even start, I think that on the likes of amazon where you can buy a paperback book and then look at the digitalised ebook version they either charge the same price as a paperback or just a couple of quid less is scandalous don't you agree.

So am looking into this in a big way to sell the ebooks at a fair price but how where would you even start with suppliers on this

Any help?

You won't break into the ebook market. Especially if you don't appreciate that the cost of an e-book is not in the cost of delivery, but rather paying everybody in the process their share. The cost of physically printing a book is negligible.

1. Most hardware is DRMd, so no one with an iPad or a Kindle will be able to buy your books.

2. The margins are tiny and you will only make a profit by selling huge volumes.

Heard something on Radio 4 about this. They agreed with the above comment, the price is for the work involved rather than the physical being of a paperback and how the likes of Amazon set their cost relative to this.

That being said, I personally only purchase through amazon for my Kindle and wouldn't dream of going elsewhere.

I have started buying ebooks, and found they are a brilliant way to buy.
You get them straight away, kindle app works really well on my android tablet.
And they are cheaper.

Surely the technology is fine, some authors will make a lot, others fail. It is a low cost entry for authors which probably means more hopefuls will try it. That does not mean that the good ones will not still succeed.

Where the author is providing good quality which is relevant at the right price this is a very helpful medium.
