Hi everyone.

I currently work selling PPI claims. Being aware that the market will not last forever and I have been planning my exit strategy and I searched for a diversification. I searched for a field where I could build a portfolio and earn residual income as that is ultimately what I want. I had a plan for Commercial Utilities but then something else popped up.

I have a friend who set up a business in September last year with a partner. He does SEO and is very good at what he does. He uses his own software that they developed and I am quite impressed as they started with nothing, no money just a couple of laptops and phones working from home and in January have obtained premises and employed a few people. They guarantee that the customers website will be on the front page of all the major search engines or their money back. In fact they are so confident of their ability that in order to clinch a deal they don't even charge the customer anything until it is on the front page. Sometimes they manage it within 3 weeks. The average client spends £200 pm for I think three or four ad words. There is no contract for the client to sign.

My friend has asked me to sell for him. He said it should be easy to get a few deals a day. Knowing that I want to diversify they too have offered a residual income. The problem is they don't know how much to pay me as they have not yet conducted such a deal yet. I pay all my own expenses and manage the accounts, sending customer reports etc. There is no travel involved. Everything is done from the desk. The nice thing about it is that I can rent office space in their building which means I don't have to be so isolated anymore.

How much do you think my friend should pay me?

Thanks

Adwords is not SEO you pay to be on googles adwords not a lot of skill involved.

The competition in that area is fierce.

Apologies, of course it is Earl. Typo, keywords is what I meant to say. I was busy reading something just before about adwords that's why I made that mistake.

I know competition is fierce, that doesn't necessarily scare me. I have always worked in competitive fields.

..how much do you need to cover costs....
..how much can you earn...
..what about managing your cashflow and when you actually get paid?
..what happens if clients are late in paying etc?

How many sales do you need to give you the revenue/income you want?
How many leads do you need to give you the revenue/income you want?
How much do you need to spend each month to give you the revenue....

I don't know if this will help, but hopefully it might ignite a few thoughts...
