Advertising needed

V

Venus International

We have just posted this message on another thread, hope we can help….

We are a direct marketing company and handle all aspects of advertising and distribution. The leaflet distribution side of things tends to get good feedback if you choose a solus option rather than a share saver. Its cheap to get the flyers printed and like most of the posts say as long as you make your advertising clear and readable with something to attract attention then 99% of the time you will get really good results. What normally works best with our clients is rather than a discount or voucher, putting an open day or event and sending a ‘invitation’ to come and visit you. We recently handled a campaign for a large florist in Manchester who just made a member of staff stand outside in a bunny rabbit suit for 4 hours handing out free chocolates to passers by. We distributed 5000 leaflets locally and the turnout was excellent.

There are alternatives to leaflet distribution such as direct marketing where we post out advertising material to specific businesses or residential properties. We have access to a large database of clients who we know are interested in receiving information on certain sectors and this way we know that we can get a better response from the campaign.

We would be more than happy to discuss your requirements in more detail if you would like to arrange a leaflet drop and our prices are very competitive starting at just £25 for 1000 leaflets distributed in your chosen area. We can offer discount for large orders and our minimum order is only 1000. We can also provide you with the company details of the florist so you can ask for yourself how we handled their campaign and how successful it was.

Good Luck

Gets me walking and fit, keeps the babies quiet in the pushchair! All good!

Thanks massey

Gemma

I hope you are delivering to terrace properties where the doors are all on the street, otherwise are you going to abandon the babies at the gate, or push the pushchair up every path?

I have people delivering magazines for me on a monthly basis (as well as doing a lot of deliveries myself). I won't let people deliver whilst taking young children with them.

Hardly abandoning them - all this political correct stuff! World gone mad!

I will have a very good friend helping me deliver while we also watch the babies, dont worry no one would steal them - they would soon bring them back! lol

Hey Gemma I am based in Bradford I run a community based website and would love to help you out in terms of promoting it on our site. I think at a local level is sometimes good idea as it is cheaper and also re the leaflets thing, there are 2 ways to go either contact local businesses like takeaways and taxi firms and see if they need leaflets delivered at same time. Social networking tried that did not help me tbh for my web design business it is a sorry state when I walk round leeds and bradford market and empty market stores. The local papers love a good story so why not have a poll like would the leaders wifes wear what you are selling be imaginative. Just trying to help. All the best and I mean that. I am trying to run my businesses to support my son after being laid off.

By the way, when I delivered my leaflets for my local community website I took my son Thomas out. It shows that you are more than a business person and people respect and understand rather than sitting at home collecting payments off the state etc. Good for you I would take your son/daughter you will enjoy it on a sunny day.

Son and daughter! Your right...just trying to earn a living!

I suppose it would be easy to live off the state with all money they throw at people for not working but i soon get bored of watching tv, unless there doing ugly betty or sex and the city reruns! lol.

Ill be out next week delivering the leaflets to tie in with the new website changes so hopefully it will go well and i aim to chat to somepeople aswell - hopefully the personal touch will help!

How much do you charge for promoting businesses on your community site?

Hi Gemma,

Do you know where about's you would like to advertise? As the cost depends on the medium you would like to advertise in. I would happily propose a media schedule for you, based on targeting your clothing company where your target audience will become aware and interested in it. Are you also looking for the design and copywriting of the advert?

If you want to get a better success ratio and conversion to your website then spend your money on online advertising. Leaflets and flyers are great but think of the conversion rate first of all of how many people will even read them and then also how many will both read them and go online to type in your web address, that's a lot of leg work for a small amount of visits.

Try simple stuff like a highlighted ad on Gumtree.com and then try some online clothing or fashion magazines which are the same as print but online so you can get some good prices for a full page ad compared to print ads. Think of what other things your target customers are interested in and aim to advertise on their sites. Facebook ads may also be another good option, have you got a group set-up for your company?

I would recommend doing flyers in the local; area again, highlight key pricing, add a quote reference point to measure it's success and go with it, print is extremely cheap nowadays, if your doing google ads or facebook start off on a small campaign as you don't want to get swamped, use as many blogsites as you can, we will advertise you free for a month on our site when it is completely built for a month if you like, pm me any special offers and i'll add it, our site is a little of completion but when its up and running i'll be sure to advertise you.

google ads would be better for your type of business i reckon also, on facebook there are so many things to do, what with the socialising (if you can call it that) and all the games, photos and content to distract people, there is less chance of them clicking your ad, google is more practical people will find you with the search they require.
