I have just started my new business on-line http://www.solaceduvet.com and as the products are very niche, driving quality traffic to my site and converting them to buyers is a tough ask. However publications like cheshire life would be a more targetted way of attracting buyers. Does anyone have any experience od advertising in such magazines and the response that they brought?

If I were you I'd seek the advice of a direct marketing pro on this before you do anything.

44 quid blankets seem like classic direct marketing fodder to me.

Go into this blind and it will be really easy to loose a whole load of money doing average 1/4 page ads in the lifestyle mags just to test the water.

Stick up a post in the marketing forum about this - there are one or two razor sharp direct marketers that reside there.

Would you not be better trying to get it in a store like John Lewis or such as.?

As for advertising in Cheshire Life, don't waste your cash, take it from me its hit and hope. And again from experience people who read cheshire life don't indulge in snuggley blankets. They keep the heating knocked off and snuggle in an old polar kneck.

I've been too many big knobs in and around Chester, many have threadbare carpets from the early 60's, and the houses smell of damp and mothballs. When you get past the facarde of the big house and big car, you realise these people are seriously mean.

Also I think you product looks good but you website looks poor.

Regards

Percy
