AdSense above the fold hypocrisy

I run AdSense on some sites.

I usually position the ads in sensible places so as to keep the pages looking reasonable.

Google have been pushing the Auto ads recently so thought I would try them out.

What a mess! no nice blending in of ads and even put a massive 1200 x 400 ish add right at the top of my pages before even showing any content.

Anyone else using Auto ads? if so, do they get better as they learn about your site or do they always stay so bad?

Surely Google Auto ad is a good feature, but many users are experiencing low CPC after using it.

The Google auto ad is a good feature. A recent update from Google about the above the fold ads is that Google may penalize you for placing the excessive amount of ads above the fold.
