Hi

I'm new to Ai CS5 five although I have previously used PS.

I need to measure out exact size for boxs via measurements sent to me.

When I use the measure tool and measure out the size I want before I can drag down a guideline ruler the measure tool tool vanishes leaving me to try and guess where to put the guidelines

Is there a way to keep the ruler tool line active after you have measured a line out ???

This is a little vague. Do you mean as you drag the guides from the rulers out, the guides disappear? or the ruler disappears?

have you tried zooming out to make a rough estimate, then zooming in to fine tune it?

 

[alphanumeric]

rather than dragging out a box using the tool just single click on the page then fill out the measurements.

You can also use ctrl + R to show/hide the rulers.
