Has anyone ever added a new website so it can be searched for on Google?

Its asking me to verify I have control the site and alsorts?

Any help would be appreciated from someone in the know

Hello

You need to insert the verify meta tag that Google has given you into your website code on the index page. Copy and paste the meta tag and paste it before the body tag.

If you have entrusted the website to someone else to make changes etc ask them to do it for you then you can verify.

Add the URL to this thread, it is amazing how fast Google picks the URL up from here and will spider it

Add it to your Signature (if you have a proper paid up account), i have always been amazed at how good this site is in Google.

Once i added the URL to a thread, and within 4hrs my site was on Google in the ranking, when i only registered it a few hours before

If you are having problems with verifying your site for Google Webmaster Tools, you can simply submit your site through this: http://www.google.co.uk/addurl/?continue=/addurl

Your site will be picked up eventually by the search engines without using Webmaster Tools.
