Accounting & Inventory Control Software for Website

Hi everyone,

My first day on this forum. Just testing the waters :)

I am in the process of setting up an ecommerce operation selling furniture. I wanted to know if you guys had any experience with a decent accounting software that can pull information from my website and ebay orders, and from my online banking statements. Im not bothered if it's web based or not.

Secondly, an inventory control software easy to use, that can be intergrated with the accounting system.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Hi

You might also want to have a look at Mamut Business Software. Accounting functionality is pretty similar to Sage 50 but it has basic e-commerce functionality built in, which can then be linked to more complex systems, deals well with inventory management and ties in its e-commerce data to in-built CRM.

Feel free to PM me if you want more details.

Hi

Another option is a Connect, a product offering by Internetware.

This product integrates Sage line 50 and most e-commerce platforms. It automates downloads of sales orders into sage 50 as well as uploading stock levels, product information, customers just to name a few.

You can download a trial by searching "sage integration" in google, they are top the list.

Hi, six months in to my business and I just realised the 'Green Book' spreadsheets I've set up aren't accounting for the stock I produce. I looked at these online accounts and inventory packages and they're way too complex on the accounting side and way too simple on the inventory. My problem is I buy raw materials and use ( parts of several of) these to make things. Each item is different so I have a large cost of sales spreadsheet, also showing when an item is sold. Anyone know something SIMPLE I can use to transfer my inventory to? I don't need it linked to online sales as i have several different selling points. I'd like to be able to just add totals for opening and closing stock to my monthly accounts summary. Although the other thing that's bothering me is this seems to make 'stock' count as profit - even though it isn't sold....I know this must sound very silly to all you accountants out there, apologies, and advice would be much appreciated.

You would likely benefit by getting a solution that integrates the features you need. That way you won't have to deal with integration related issues/fees, and consolidated applications tend to have great workflow benefits.

I know WORKetc integrates product lists, CRM, and even project management features together, with billing built in too. You would be able to manage customer lists, product catalogs, invoices, quotes, invoices, and expenses from one system.

Hello there!

I think that E-conomic would be a good solution for your new venture.

E-conomic is an online accounting system that offers a Stock management add-on module which is fully integrated with the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Sales modules in E-conomic.

E-conomic also has an open API (Application Programming Interface) - meaning it can be integrated with any other open API system (such as web shops and eBay). Integrations between E-conomic and a number of different web shops (such as Magento, Shopify, Webmercs, and many others) already exist at this time.

A dynamic banking integration is currently being developed for E-conomic, and will be launched as soon as possible.

You can try E-conomic for free on our website, so you can get a feel of the system and whether or not it works for you. Let me know if you have any questions about the system - I'd be happy to fill you in with more details.

No matter which solution you choose, good luck with your new endeavor! :)

Best regards,

Alexandra

This might do you - http://www.estockcard.com/

They have a free 100 item trial - but after download set it to the warehouse or full package
It might take you a few hours to get your head around it because it can do quite a bit

Or have a look at the trial of wasp - http://www.waspbarcode.co.uk/stock_control/testdrive.asp
This is perhaps a better start point because it is simpler to understand and get a feel for what is possible etc
Works well with barcodes if this matters
